The very basic DAL...... We generally call it MUDHA(mashed) PAPPU....
It goes well and yummy with hot Rice and Ghee.........
( If not pressure cooker, you can directly cook on flame... but it takes more time and thus waste of time and GAS )

Ingredients:
1. Kandhi pappu / Toor dal - 1 cup
2. turmeric pwdr - a pinch (optional)
3. water - 1.5 cups
4. salt - to taste
5. oil - a drop (optional)
TIP: Adding turmeric pwdr and oil will speed up the process of cooking dal.
Procedure :
1. Wash Dal well....
2. Add water , turmeric powder and oil .( dont add salt now. )
TIP: Soak this for 10 mins ... which will cook dal faster
3. Now Pressure cook it for 3 - 4 whistles.
( If not pressure cooker, you can directly cook on flame... but it takes more time and thus waste of time and GAS )
4. wait till the pressure cools down and open the cooker.
5. Now add salt and mash the dal well.
6.Serve hot....
