SPINACH DAL:




my friend radhika said this way of doing spinach..

previously i used to put everything in pressure cooker but my husband dint like it.
once during lunch hours radhika shared her dal.i liked it n asked her the recipe and tired it.my H liked it too.thanku radhiiiii............

Ingredients:

kandi pappu(toor dal) - 1 cup

pala kura(spinach) - 2 cups -washed properly n cut

green chillies - 4

Red chillies - 2

onion - 1 small - cut into thin slices

tomato - 1 small - cut into small pieces

tamarind extract - 11/2 tbspn

turmeric powder - a pinch

red chilli powder - 1 tspn

cumin seeds - 1tspn

mustard seeds - 1 tspn

curry leaves - 5 leaves

salt - as required

Procedure:

1. wash toor dal properly.
2. pour 1 cup water and a pinch of turmeric powder to it.
3. pressure cook it.

4.Meanwhile, take a kadai and heat 1 tbsp oil.




 5.once its hot , add red chillies,mustard seeds and cumin seeds.



6. once they start spluttering add curry leaves and turmeric powder.

7.now add onions and grren chillies.



8.saute them until onions turn transulate.
9.then add spinach and fry it for 5 mins or till spinach gets cooked.



10.then add tomato and fry for 5mins.



11.then add red chilli powder, tamarind paste and fry for another 2mins.



12.then add salt and cooked toor dal. mix well and cook for 2mins.



13.serve with hot rice.
